Right before Buddha’s Birthday each year, rows of lotus lanterns will be hung in the meditation hall of Su Bong Zen Monastery and in the outdoor grounds of Gak Su Temple.
Elegant and graceful, these lotus lanterns* serve to both cultivate wholesome connections and light the lamp of one's self nature—shining and cutting through ignorance with profound significance.
We warmly invite everyone, during this auspicious festival, to offer lotus lanterns for yourselves, your family, and your friends. May your mind be always bright and pure, and may you attain your inherently complete compassion and wisdom.

Funds donated for the Lotus Lanterns, after deducting necessary expenses, will be used for supporting the daily operations of Su Bong Zen Monastery. Details are as follows:

*For Lotus Lanterns in the Dharma Hall of Zen Center, the names for dedication will be hung under the lanterns. **For outdoor lanterns, the names will be placed on the altar of Gak Su Temple. The Lotus Lanterns will be hung for 3 months, and we will chant Great Dharani each afternoon (except Mondays) at Zen Center and Gak Su Temple to dedicate merits until the completion day on 30 August.
